Single sided with strip layout copper, usually you would use a knife or twist drill to break the traces where you want to break them.
This is a single-sided pcb on what the chinese call "bakelite", but we might call phenolic pcb. As with all such pcbs, and indeed in general, it's best not to overheat the pads or they could detach, get in, get out. Although since these PCBs use long runs rather than individual pads that's probably a lot less of a problem I suspect.
