Details

This is a Nokia 5110 Graphic LCD Display (originally these LCDs were used in Nokia phones, hence the name) ready for you to connect to an Arduino (or whatever).

84 Pixels wide, 48 Pixels down, monochrome.

To make it easy for you to control this LCD module for basic operations I write a nice simple library for you:

PCD8544_Simple Nokia Display Arduino Library

Using my library you can draw text, basic shapes (lines, rectangles and circles), and bitmap graphics, all the details including wiring diagrams are at the link above, the library includes a number of examples to help you learn the ropes.

One feature of my library is that printing text (and numbers) can be done exactly the same as you would print text to your Serial device, that is, instead of Serial.print(...) you have lcd.print(...) so this makes it super easy to get started.

Of course, these devices are very popular and there are a number of other libraries around out there which may better suit your needs. Up to you!

PLEASE NOTE:

1. These devices are 3.3v (3v3), if you have a 5v Arduino, you need to level shift, see the documentation at the link above which explains how to do that. Do not go shoving 5v up the devices pins, because it probably won't appreciate that at all.

2. The lcds are potentially literally sourced out of old Nokia phones (so upcycled, ooh, trendy) and as a result sometimes there is a small light scratch or something on the glass, generally only visible when the screen is off with the light at the right angle you know the sort of thing. If aesthetic perfection is important to you, you better ask me first.
