This is a 4 digit seven segment display, and it's very small at just 1cm high (the digits themselves are only 7mm high!).
Picture shows all lights lit - taking pictures of leds is hard, it looks better, redder, brighter in real life. Breadboard, pen, wires not included )
4 digits, and a colon in the middle, there are unfortunately no decimal points (the spaces are there but no led under them) - hack idea: you might be able to drill a hole in the side underneath the decimal point spaces and insert a 3mm led or glue an SMD led across the drilled hole - have not tried yet so no idea if it works, just an idea.
Common cathode - 1 cathode for each digit, and an anode for each segment A through G and the colon (which is on the second digit's cathode).
The colon is all on or all of, you can't control the colon dots independent from each other.
There are 12 pins, standard 2.54mm spacing and as you can see they plug into a breadboard )
Looking from the front, on the top row left to right the pins are
Cathode 1, Segment A, Segment F, Cathode 2, Cathode 3, Segment B
and bottom row left to right
Segment E, Segment D, Colon (cathode 2), Segment C, Segment G, Cathode 4
PS: segment letters are standard, A is the top, then go clockwise around (so B is top right, C is bottom right..), and G is the middle bar.
