While the 78xx and 317 series of regulators have similar specs between manufacturers, as these are China sourced parts – you should assume that the maximum current rating is 1A regardless of branding/marking.
The maximum input voltage except where I have noted otherwise should be regarded to have been tested at 24v. Sometimes I get a batch that doesn’t handle that so I have noted it above and in the selections.
Remember linear regulators obey the laws just like a resistor, if it's dropping X volts and you're drawing Y amps, then it must dissipate X*Y Watts.
I would recommend that if you are anticipating near to half a watt or more dissipation, heatsink it!
