Details

This is a new 2-part type of Faux Neon LED strip.

Note that there is no channel/guide/frame included, the Kiwi picture is just an example, you need to make your own channel, it does not hold it’s own shape and must be put into a channel to shape it (3d printer is a good way to make one)!

Each “item” you buy is  1 meter of silicone diffuser with 1 meter of a matching LED strip, I have the following colours.

  • Gold - Per Meter - Currently Out Of Stock; or
  • Ice Blue - Per Meter - Currently Out Of Stock

The LED strip has double-sided adhesive tape on it, but the silicone diffuser needs to be pushed into a channel, the channel is where you will need to be imaginative, it’s not provided, in the chinese sign-making business they use special router bits on CNC machines to cut the channel in plexiglass.  You can see how I have done it, a simple 3D printed channel!  I drew a suitable profile and “swept” it around a suitable curve to extrude the channel, chopped it into manageable pieces and printed it at 0.3mm layer height.  Works really well.

The LED strip can be cut every 3 LEDs, just with scissors, snip half-way across the pads.  Simply apply 9-12v to any one of the + and – pad pairs to supply power, personally I think towards 9-10v is best, 12v is pretty bright.  The silicone strip can be cut easily with a craft knife.

Big Clive did a video on this stuff, I’ve linked it below.

This is way easier to use than the big bulky stuff with integrated LEDs, waaaay easier.
