This is a boost mode driver for common “3x3” 10W bare power leds, such as the Cool, Warm and Natural 10W leds I have listed.
Input is from 2.7v to 5.0v and the output current is between approx 800mA and 900mA.
About 80% efficient, so you will want a 4 A to 5A capable input supply if you will drop below about 4v input, of if you will be using a 5v input a 2.5-3A supply will do.
The low input voltage range makes this a simple 10W LED driver for use with single/parallel cell Lithium-Ion or LiFePO4 cells, provided they can safely supply the necessary current (as above 4A to 5A). Or you could use a “USB power bank” that has a 2.5-3A output.
Note that the input capacitor is intentionally not populated, there is a ceramic cap to replace it, but you might need to add one in if you have long supply wires.
The “EN” is an optional PWM dimming/enable input, connect to ground = off, leave open = on. The “VCP” is a 5v output from a chargepump, you could use this to power your dimming circuit, or anything else low power - it should be able to supply a few mA.
These drivers will get hot in use especially at lower input voltages, the board tupically 60-70 degrees, the inductor may be hotter nearer 70-90 degrees, if you house in a 3d printed enclosure I would design to hold it at either end and set back the plastic from the rest of the PCB (especially around the inductor).
The module measures 42mm x 24mm
