This is a close cousin of my LM2596 based step down converters, what this board adds is a current limiting (constant current) mode. Perfect for driving LEDs with an adjustable constant current.

Connect an input from 5v to 35v on one side,

1. turn the left side adjustment screw to set maximum output voltage from 1.25v to 30v (output always lower than input).
2. turn the right side adjustment screw to set maximum output current from a few mA to a couple of amps.

if your load tries to pull more than the limited current you have set, the module will reduce the voltage in order to clamp to that set current.

It includes an LED which can be used as a charged/charging indicator when using this device to charge cells, when the current drops to below 10% of the set current then LED will change to green to indicate “charged”.

This is how you can set the limits...

1. Wind both potentiometers anticlockwise (right to left) about 20 turns, this will put them at the minimums.
2. Connect input power
3. Use a multimeter in DC Volts mode to measure the output voltage (no load), and adjust the Voltage (left side) potentiometer clockwise to get your desired maximum voltage
4. Use a multimeter in DC Current mode (make sure your meter can handle the current, put it on the 10A range) to measure the short circuit current across the output (no load), wind the Current potentiometer clockwise to get your desired maximum current.

Input: 5 to 35v
Output: 1.25 to 30v,
Maximum output power: 10W without heatsink, I would recommend using heatsink tape to attach to a heatsink if going higher than that (up to maybe 15-20W)
Current: 30mA up to 2-3 Amp but remember the power limit above

You can probably turn the current limit down below 30mA, right down to perhaps 2mA, but I'm being conservative in case stability gets a little wibbly wobbly down at that level.
