This here is a combination Micro SD and full size SD Card adapter which you can use to read and write Micro SD or SD Cards with your Arduino or other favourite microcontroller.
Note that you can only use a Micro SD – or – a full size SD, you can not have both inserted at once, one or the other only.
Includes level shifting so safe to use with a 5v Arduino without any problem, simply provide 5v to the 5v pin, the 3.3v pin can be considered an output if you need it.
Using the Arduino SD library (or sdfatlib natively) you can read and write files onto your FAT-16/32 formatted SD Card (please, don't use your SD card containing the only copy of your wedding photos!) very easily, in the Arduino IDE go to File : Examples : SD for multiple examples of reading and writing.
Pins are clearly marked, CSK/MISO/MOSI/CS are as usual, the 3.3v is the output of the 3.3v regulator on the board, 5v is 5v input and gnd is ground, fairly obviously.
The C Det (C.Det, C-Det) pin is a switch which connects momentarily to ground as a full-size sd card is being inserted (when the card is inserted the switch is open, when the card is out the switch is open, when the card is in the process of being inserted the switch closes to ground), you can just ignore it and don’t connect anything to that generally speaking.
