ESP32 Wifi Microcontroller ESP-WROOM-32 Arduino Compatible

Your bog standard chinese cheapie ESP32 ESP-WROOM-32 Microcontroller Dev Board, with CP2102 driven Micro USB for uploading/serial comms, your typical leds, and boot/reset buttons. 

These ones have the headers already soldered on.

If you’re reading this you probably already know what an ESP32 is and why you might want one.  

I don’t have much experience with the ESP32, but I can give you these getting started with the Arduino IDE tips, for more, Google is your friend.

1. Add to your Arduino Preference “Additional Board Manager URLs” –  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/gh-pages/package_esp32_index.json
2. Tools > Board > Boards Manager and install “esp32”
3. Tools > Board  > ESP32 Arduino > “ESP32 Dev Module”
4. Tools > Port and choose the serial port appropriate for the ESP32 you just plugged in
5. Grab this Hello World sketch.and enter your wifi SSID and password
6. Click upload, hold down the Boot button at least until you see “Writing at 0x00010000... (2 %)” you can let go then and it will continue
7. Tools > Serial Monitor, 115200 baud
8. Cross fingers, hopefully you will see it connect to WIFI and request a file from my server, job done, world is hello
