MP3 Player 32MBit USB Upload JQ8400-FL - Easy Arduino Library

Details

The JQ8400-FL is a small module which can play mp3 files, it has a built in amplifier for mono output, and stereo output to feed into an external amplifier.

The FL model has a built in 4 Megabytes (32 MBit) of storage space just plug it in and it appears just like a teeny tiny USB drive you can copy your files onto. 

The JQ8400 series can only be controlled over a serial connection from for example an Arduino – if you want button-only control see the JQ6500 series.

I have written a super easy Arduino library with which you can fully control the module. How easy? How about "mp3.play()" levels of easy, only 2 pins required.

Using the Arduino library unlocks the full potential of this little device, including being able to select different equalizer modes (Pop, Jazz, Rock etc) looping modes, playing specific files by index number, and even by folder and file name (provided they are numerical - /01/001.mp3 ) for SD Card stored files.

If you are familiar with the older JQ6500 model, the JQ8400 introduces some new features…

• ”interject” with a special "we interrupt this broadcast to...." type announcements
  
• the ability to setup a sort of a playlist which will play without needing to be specifically driven by the microcontroller
  
• the ability to do an A-B loop while playing a file, so you can say play a file looping between 5 seconds and 10 seconds markers
  
• fast forward and rewind
  
• new play modes for random-all and random-in-folder
