This is a spiral Step Drill Bit, occasionally called a Christmas Tree Bit because of the shape, not for drilling Christmas Trees.
It has a standard hex shank so you could use it with a normal chuck or a screwdriver, or even a manual screwdriver handle if you’re planning to take the lead in the next amateur dramatics production of Popeye.
Used for drilling holes in relatively thin panels, these drills have step diameters of 4mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and 20mm
You should drill a pilot hole first, then use the step drill to drill down to your desired size.
I am not a drill expert, I’m not an engineer, I don’t know anything about materials, do not ask me “will this drill into ….” I don’t know any more than you do.
All of our products are shipped from Christchurch, New Zealand using CourierPost for NZ, and Airmail for international.
