4 Contact (TRRS, Tip Ring Ring Sleeve) 3.5mm plug, typically used for stereo plus microphone.
Standard solder tabs under the cover.
Note that the wiring of a TRRS varies, Wikipedia has list of common standards for TRRS – iPhone and most Android would probably be CTIA, Nokia and Windows Phone may be OMTP. Anyway consult the Wikipedia article or Google is your friend to find the wiring for your specific requirements.
Can't say much more about this, not really very exciting, but if you need one, you need one.
Of course, not limited to audio usage, 3.5mm plugs are convenient means for connecting up sensors and such to your electronic projects. I've even seen cheap handheld oscilloscopes using 3.5mm jacks for their probes.
