Please note, the rubber cap on the current batch of these is a bit smellier than usual, I guess it’s just out gassing and might tame down, but if you are sensitive to odours from outgassing rubber, either don’t buy or of course chuck the rubber cap away and just use the socket :-)
The most common variety of DC power sockets (barrel jack/barrel socket), 5.5mm hole with 2.1mm center (5.5x2.1)
This variant is metal shelled, needing an 10-11mm hole or so and the bezel is 12mm or so. Also has an attached rubber boot/cap which can plug into the hole to keep stuff out. I'm not sure how water proof it would be, but should be at least somewhat "splash" resistant.
The shell is connected to the outer connection (typically you would make that negative, and the centre positive) so bear in mind that if you make metal-metal contact when installing this your chassis/case will be connected to that (as I say, usually make it negative).
Nut included. Solder tabs on the back to connect your wires.
I also have a few other styles of 5.5/2.1 socket and plugs, check my listings of these here:
That’s about all that can be said!
