These 2.54mm pitch male right angle headers are the less common Low Profile style, also known as long-edge block headers because the plastic block is on the long edge.
Why would you want these? Because they will mate with female right angle headers for doing board-edge to board-edge interconnection, while the normal profile male right angles would make one board at a different level than the one it mated to.
