This is a listing for a complete roll as supplied of 26 AWG Kanthal A1 Resistance Wire (0.4mm Diameter).
Commonly used for making resistors, heating coils, hot wire cutting, bag sealing, DIY respiratory recreational administration device (Google doesn’t like the v word) making… that sort of thing.
Each roll is marked from the supplier as having 30 Feet, which is 9.14 Meters in theory (this is China we are talking about, theory and practice…)
Resistance of roughly 5.7 Ohms per 50cm (11.4/M), and a diameter of 0.4mm.
According to markings, this is Kanthal A1.The resistance appears to be about the expected value for Kanthal A1. But I have no way to independantly verify that it is Kanthal A1 other than that..
Compared to Nichrome, Kanthal has a higher melting point, higher operating temperature, and a slightly higher resistance.
